Lead Tool Maker Responsibilities:
Assist with the fabrication, modification, maintenance, and repair of tools and mechanical components by using CNC mills, mills, lathes, drills, grinders and other shop equipment Perform bench work such as sanding and tool assembly Assist in tool inspections to insure proper tool rebuilds/repairs and reduce development costs of new tools Participate as a team member to improve work practices and methods Understand and comply with all ISO QSP's and work instructions related to job responsibilities Assist in Tool Vault and Sample Lab as required Work in any department of the Company as required Assist all departments by providing machine shop support Troubleshoot production problems and provide solutions Perform work to the tooling schedule and adjust as required to meet Internal and external customer deadlines Requirements for
Lead Tool Maker:
Certificate in Machine Tool Operations or related field and 1 year experience in manufacturing environment - OR - Equivalent machine tool experience in tool fabrication, maintenance, or machine shop Ability to read, write and speak English to meet training, safety and quality requirements Working knowledge on the safe and effective use of the following machine shop equipment:
CAD/CAM, CNC
mills, EDM's, milling machines, manual lathes, and drill presses Ability to read blueprints Ability to apply shop math to build tools Ability to interact well with others Self-starter with the ability to try new methods to improve productivity Strong troubleshooting skills IND999
