Tooling Technician Phoenix Engineering - 3.6 Stoughton, WI Job Details Full-time $21.38 - $33.00 an hour Qualifications Trigonometry Blueprint specification interpretation Tool & die Geometry Productivity software Manufacturing CAM programming Full Job Description About the Role As a Tooling Technician, you will play a critical role in the precision manufacturing process by building, maintaining, and repairing complex dies, fixtures, and production gauges. Your expertise in CNC machining and technical troubleshooting will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality components while maintaining rigorous production standards. Responsibilities Program and operate CNC machining equipment to fabricate high-precision tooling components. Perform complex assembly and repair of dies, fixtures, and gauges to ensure optimal production performance. Utilize advanced instrumentation, including micrometers and height gauges, to maintain tolerances within .0005 inches. Interpret and verify technical blueprints to perform accurate measurement layouts and identify potential design errors. Execute advanced troubleshooting on tooling systems to minimize downtime and enhance manufacturing efficiency. Operate a wide range of manual and power machinery, including mills, lathes, and grinders, to support fabrication needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills Associate's degree in a technical machine tool program or equivalent vocational training. 5+ years of experience in a machining environment with 3+ years specifically in tool and die fabrication. Proficiency in reading blueprints and applying geometry and trigonometry to manufacturing tasks. Strong background in building blanking, punching, and forming dies. Competency in MS Office Suite and experience with CAM software packages. Preferred Skills Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Certified in crane rigging and forklift operation. Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high productivity. Experience with diverse material types including cold, hot, and tool steels.
