Traveling Construction Superintendent
  • Water/WastewaterAlabama + Florida Panhandle | Treatment Plants | Pump/Lift Stations | UtilitiesA well-established general contractor specializing in water/wastewater infrastructure is seeking a Traveling Construction Superintendent to support active and upcoming projects throughout Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.
This is a field leadership opportunity for someone who can take ownership of site execution and drive safety, quality, schedule, and productivity across complex municipal infrastructure work.

What You'll Be DoingLead day-to-day field operations from mobilization through project closeoutCoordinate crews, equipment, and subcontractors to hit production goalsDrive the short-interval plan, 3-week look-ahead, and weekly work plansEnforce a strong safety culture (daily huddles, audits, training, compliance)Maintain high quality standards (inspections, testing, punch lists, turnover)Coordinate with Project Management on RFIs, submittals, procurement, and changesCommunicate effectively with owners, engineers, inspectors, and stakeholdersMaintain accurate field documentation (daily reports, quantities, photos, logs)Support commissioning/startup and closeout documentation as requiredProject Experience That Translates WellWater/Wastewater Treatment Plants (WTP/WWTP)

  • water mains, sanitary sewer, storm, force mainsConcrete structures, sitework, piping, and coordination with mechanical/electrical scopesWhat They're Looking ForRequired5+ years of Superintendent (or strong Lead/Foreman ready to step up) experience in heavy civil/utility constructionDirect project exposure to WWTP/WTP, pump/lift stations, and/or underground utilitiesStrong understanding of excavation, trench safety, dewatering, piping, concrete, and sequencingAbility to read plans/specs and run work proactively with minimal directionProven leadership-ability to hold crews and subs accountable while maintaining teamworkPreferredExperience coordinating process/mechanical work in treatment facilitiesFamiliarity with Procore (or similar construction management platforms)OSHA 30 (or ability to obtain), Trenching/Excavation Competent Person a plusTravel ExpectationsRegional travel across Alabama and the Florida PanhandleCompetitive travel support (commonly includes per diem, lodging, and vehicle support)Consistent backlog and long-term opportunity for traveling field leadersCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base pay + bonus potential (based on experience and project type)Comprehensive benefits package (medical/dental/vision, 401(k), PTO, etc.
