Job Description
A power generation company operating in wholesale energy markets is seeking a Chemical Engineer to lead critical engineering functions that support safe and reliable plant operations. This role is instrumental in driving operational excellence while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing workplace culture. The Chemical Engineer will take ownership of key technical processes, ensuring system integrity, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across plant operations. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in chemistry and water treatment , with experience in a power plant or government utility environment. This individual is comfortable in a hands-on, technically focused leadership role, capable of both strategic oversight and day-to-day problem solving. Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing engineering and technical services supporting power generation operations
- Lead and manage chemistry and water treatment programs, to ensure regulatory compliances and system reliability
- Collaborate with operations, maintenenace, and leadership teams
- Drive continous improvement initiatives related to performance, safety, and cost efficiency
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in chemistry and water treatment, within a power plant or municipal utility setting
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
- Advanced knowledge of water treatment systems, chemistry control, and regulatory compliance
- Proven ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
