Your impact Jacobs is searching for highly motivated, adaptable and communicative team player to join their projects in Plympton Wyoming, Ontario . Reporting to the Lead Operator and/or Project Manager, the Water and Wastewater Op erator is an entry level position and is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations, maintenance and compliance for Municipal Water and Wastewater Systems. The incumbent will work in a team environment alongside other operators and contractors to ensure proper operation of the Municipal Water and Wastewater Systems while following all applicable regulations, legislation and procedures and the Drinking Water Quality Management Standard (DWQMS). This is an entry level position. Candidates should have a desire to learn about water and wastewater operations and be enthusiastic about upgrading their skill set by successfully passing Operator in Training linceces as the first step to building a lifetime career in the industry. Refer to the following link to learn how to obtain your Operator in Training licenses: https://owwco.ca/operators/#writingexam Consideration will also be given to candidates who currently have their Class 1, 2, or 3 licenses in Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution and Supply and Wastewater Collection. Remuneration will be based on demonstrated experience and level of license held. It is expected that the successful candidate will develop a good working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, water distribution systems, wasteater collection systems and computer software applications utilized to operate and maintain the system and providing reporting. The incumbent will be required to respond to after hour calls and alarms assocated with the Municipality's Water and Wastewater Systems and is required to live within 1 hour radius of the project to be able to respond as per the contract agreement.
Ideal Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge in the repair, replacement, installation and maintenance of water and wastewater system components.
  • Strong knowledge of the relevant regulatory and legislative acts, codes, policies, guidelines and procedures related to water operations and maintenance
  • Knowledge of laboratory analytical procedures and QA/QC programs
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints and other technical specifications
  • Familiarity with computers, including monitoring and operating systems (SCADA) and other operational and process data collection/reporting systems
  • Analytical, problem-solving, planning and scheduling skills required to effectively inspect, operate and monitor the facilities processes and equipment
  • Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance; take samples, interpret results and make process control adjustments to resolve operating issues
  • Good oral and written communication skills to liaise with a variety of people including coworkers, clients, suppliers, while keeping accurate logs and writing reports
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take initiative, manage multiple and changing demands and priorities while working independently and with other staff
  • Possess a valid Class G driver's license throughout the course of employment
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment This is a 1 year contract position with opportunity for full time after contract expires.

Upper 62,400.00 The base salary range for this position is $49,920.00 to $62,400.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across Ontario, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
