Job Description

Royal Gorge Bridge & Park is seeking a Water/Wastewater Plant Technician or Trainee to work alongside the Class A Operator in charge of the facility. This role assists with daily plant operations and provides hands-on training in facility operations, with opportunities to pursue a career in water/wastewater licensing and management. The position typically works 32 to 40 hours per week and is a temporary seasonal entry-level role. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. Essential Functions (not an all inclusive list)
  • Assist the Plant Operator in Charge with assigned duties in both the water and wastewater plants.
  • Train to operate equipment used in water and wastewater plant operations.
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and a high school diploma or GED.
  • Use computers and learn software programs required to operate the water plant.
  • Monitor facility readings, collect test samples, read pumps, and learn plant equipment.
  • Work weekends, including coverage for the Water Plant Operator's days off, and respond during emergencies; a set schedule will be established upon hire.
  • Meet physical requirements such as lifting, walking, climbing stairs, and using sight, reading, speech, and hearing skills.
  • Study on site for entry-level water certification.
  • Must be 18 years of age due to job duties.
  • Pass a background check and drug screen and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
