Full Job Description Main Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Fire hydrant maintenance and repair.
  • Mainline valve operation and maintenance.
  • Blow off valve operation and maintenance.
  • Pressure reducing valve operation and maintenance.
  • Pump station and pump inspections, operation, maintenance, and grounds maintenance.
  • Water storage tank inspections, maintenance, and grounds maintenance at all facilities.
  • Water meter reading, inspections, maintenance and repairs.
  • Locating water utilities and wastewater utilities for engineers, contractors, developers, and homeowners.
  • Service calls requests for engineers, contractors, developers and homeowners.
  • Inspections of new construction projects and existing utility repairs.
  • Water main breaks, oversee, assist, and documentation.
  • Sanitary sewer mains, plan, coordinate, and review the cleaning and inspection of district sewer mains.
  • Sanitary manholes, inspections, and documentation of all district-maintained manholes.
  • Wastewater metering vault, Inspections, cleaning, and documentation of readings and conditions of metering vault.
  • Sewer backups, oversee, assist, and Documentation.
  • SCADA computer, oversee, acknowledge, and assist supervisor.
  • Rotational On-Call duties.
Required for
Selection:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with no major citations.
  • Background check.
  • Medical examination.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Position requires Certifications of Water Distribution Class 1 and Wastewater Collection Class 1 or ability to Obtain Certifications of Water Distribution Class 1 and Wastewater Collection Class 1 within 90 days.
Experience:
  • Construction and/or water system related experience.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to be able to have excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to identify work needs and complete them in a timely manner.
  • Ability to identify unsafe practices and avoid injury (utilize proper PPE).
  • Ability to do strenuous activities for long periods of time.
  • Ability to learn others duties and do on the Job Training.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

  • Ensure work areas/facilities and vehicles are clean and presentable at all times.

Rate of Pay:
  • This position is hourly.
The starting rate of pay is $24.50 to $28.50 based on prior experience.
