Job Description

The Seminole Tribe of Florida's Public Works Department is responsible for providing a variety of services to the residents of The Seminole Tribe. The Department's main functions are to administer and manage the construction, operation, and maintenance of the Seminole Tribe of Florida's infrastructure for roads, water and wastewater distribution and collection systems, facilities, and sanitation services to meet existing and future needs of the Tribal Council and Community.

//tcd.semtribe.com/ The position is located on the Big Cypress Reservation at 31055 Josie Billie Highway, Clewiston, FL 33440. This is not in the main city of Clewiston, rather 45 minute drive south. It is about a 45 minute drive east of Immokalee. Coming from Weston it would be about a 55 minute drive to the west on I-75. If commuting more than 40 miles in one direction, you may be eligible for a fuel stipend. Position Summary This is responsible supervisory work in public works. The incumbent is this position is responsible for supervising, assigning and coordinating, the work performed by the Public Works Transfer Station Operators assigned to the Seminole Tribe of Florida Reservation. The incumbent is expected to exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment in directing field operations and in resolving work problems in accordance with established policy and procedure.
Qualifications / Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent GED is required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Solid Waste Management, recycling and composting, with at least one (1) years of experience in a supervisory capacity is required. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered. Possession of a valid Commercial Driver Licensed (CDL) for the State of Florida is required. Ability to attend and obtain 40 Hour Haz-Mat Health and Safety Program certification is required. Demonstrate excellent English written and oral communication skills and organizational skills. Knowledge of Microsoft software programs including Excel. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays and be available for emergencies 24/7.
