Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Utility Director to lead and oversee the comprehensive operations of our utility services. This pivotal role involves managing water treatment, wastewater treatment, and other essential utility functions to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of services. The Utility Director will drive continuous improvement initiatives, supervise technical teams, and coordinate maintenance and construction activities to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence. Responsibilities Lead the planning, development, and execution of water treatment, wastewater treatment, and related utility operations to meet regulatory standards and organizational goals. Supervise maintenance activities including equipment repair, heavy equipment operation, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance. Oversee the operation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) for automation and process control. Coordinate construction projects, upgrades, and repairs involving heavy lifting and construction equipment to minimize downtime. Implement data collection processes for system monitoring, analysis skills development, and reporting purposes. Manage safety protocols related to heavy lifting, equipment repair, tankers, and other operational tasks to maintain a safe work environment. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to water treatment and wastewater management. Develop training programs for staff on equipment maintenance, basic math applications in operations, plumbing techniques, and analysis skills. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and operational data for accountability and continuous improvement. Experience Proven experience managing utility operations with a focus on water treatment or wastewater treatment systems. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) used in industrial automation. Experience operating heavy equipment including tankers or construction machinery is highly desirable. Knowledge of plumbing systems and math skills necessary for troubleshooting and operational calculations. Demonstrated ability to analyze operational data to identify issues and implement effective solutions. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during routine inspections or emergency repairs. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
