WASTEWATER
VACTOR TRUCK:
Performs tasks of more than average difficulty involving the safe operation and routine maintenance of assigned equipment. The employee will perform semi-skilled work in maintenance of the wastewater collection system and serve as a lead in the operation of the vactor truck and/or tanker truck. Tasks, at times, are performed under hazardous conditions and employees are expected to be particularly alert and careful. Under general supervision, employees are required to exercise initiative and independent judgment in completing assigned tasks. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion by observation and through results obtained. The employee with be required periodically to assist the CCTV crew in cleaning sewer main lines in preparation for inspections; also the employee will be required to assist on sewer backups and wastewater overflows. Lastly, the employee maybe required to work at night and work in adverse weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED; two (2) years of experience in the operation of assigned equipment required listed below; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience. Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions. Florida Commercial Driver's License Class B required prior to employment. Position requires a tanker endorsement permit prior to employment. Position requires passing an annual respirator physical; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator. Experience with High Velocity Cleaner with Sewer Vacuum Trailer and CCTV truck preferred. GOAA Secure Area Access I. D. badge within ninety (90) days of hire required. Excavator Tractor Loader-Backhoe, Large High Velocity Cleaner with Sewer Vacuum Trailer Large Draglines Truck Crane Well Drilling Rig Bulldozer Fifth Wheel Tractor Truck w/Lowboy Transport Trailer Motor Grader Fifth Wheel Tractor Truck w/Sludge Trailer, 15 cubic yards Accessory Equipment•Sludge Press Equipment Sweeper, Street Bucket Machine, Hydraulic Front End Loader, over 3 cubic yards Dump Truck (17 cubic yards) with attached trailer with skid loader (GVW rating of 81,500 lbs.) 3rd Axle Dump Truck
Concrete Transit Mixer Definition:
Complex, large equipment that normally requires formal and/or extensive training averaging three (3) months. Equipment is normally transported or operated on public roadways sometimes requiring a small crew. The consequence of errors can be major in terms of cost or repairs and damage to both public and private property and equipment. There is a chance of major injury to other employees and citizens.
