Job Description

Salary Range $25.21-$32.15 Job Posting End Date - Applications will no longer be accepted starting 07-03-2026 Job Summary Performs supervisory functions with limited administrative support of a specialized nature enforcing the applicable City of Orlando Codes (City Code Chapter 28, Solid Waste) and/or regulations associated with the collection and transportation of municipal solid waste. Responsible for training employees to successfully operate multiple types of refuse collection trucks. Dispatches routes, audits fleet assets to ensure vehicle readiness, and supervises field activities of several crews that operate multiple types of refuse trucks that are geographically removed from the Division and have extensive contact with the general public, business/property owners, and other government officials. Work is performed under general supervision and reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation, meetings, and review of work orders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with City policy. Work is often performed outdoors, and incumbent is subject to varied weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate , two (2) years of experience in the safe operation of heavy refuse collection trucks (or successful completion of a SWMD-approved Solid Waste Safe Driver course), and two (2) years of experience in the enforcement of City Codes; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Class B CDL required.
