Job Description

As a Utilities Treatment Technician, you'll take on a dynamic, hands-on role supporting the essential systems that keep water and wastewater treatment facilities running smoothly. Working under general supervision, you'll have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise while growing in a career that truly makes a difference every day.
Education and Experience:
An equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years of experience in public works construction, maintenance, wastewater collection, water distribution, repair activities. Licenses and/or
Certificates:
Must maintain a valid Commercial Driver's license Class "A" or ability to acquire permit within 30 days of hire and ability to acquire license within three (3) months of hire. Within one (1) year of position assignment: Must maintain CCU Confined Space Entry Certification Within two (2) years of position assignment: Must maintain Water Distribution Operator Level 3 License In your day-to-day journey as a Utilities Treatment Technician, you will keep things flowing—literally. As a Utilities Treatment Technician, you'll play a hands-on role in keeping vital water and wastewater systems running safely and efficiently. From daily inspections and preventive maintenance to monitoring system performance and making real-time adjustments, you'll be at the heart of operations. You'll troubleshoot issues, maintain critical equipment, and respond to both routine needs and emergency situations with confidence and sound judgment. This role blends mechanical skill, technical awareness, and customer service—giving you the chance to make a direct impact on public health and environmental quality every single day.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, hearing, seeing up close, seeing far away, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions, depth perception. Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is exposed to outdoor weather conditions or irate customers, extreme noise, odors, heights, and/or dust.

The position requires moderate exposure or risk related to physical and/or mental health and safety (e.g., exposure to environmentally hazardous material, heavy equipment, electricity, high system process pressures, assault and battery, communicable disease, etc.).
