Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities, safeguarding environmental standards, and supporting community health. Your proactive approach and technical skills will help maintain smooth plant operations, optimize water treatment processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable water management while developing your expertise in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities Operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS), to maintain optimal plant performance. Conduct routine inspections of plant machinery, pumps, valves, and heavy equipment to identify maintenance needs and perform repairs as necessary. Collect and analyze data related to water quality parameters, process efficiency, and equipment performance to support operational decisions. Perform heavy lifting tasks involving construction materials, tankers, or heavy equipment to facilitate maintenance or system upgrades. Maintain accurate records of water treatment processes, equipment status, and operational logs for regulatory compliance and reporting purposes. Troubleshoot mechanical issues such as plumbing failures or equipment malfunctions using mechanical knowledge and analysis skills. Assist in the operation of heavy machinery during construction or maintenance activities while adhering to safety protocols. Experience Prior experience operating wastewater treatment systems or water treatment facilities is preferred. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with knowledge of equipment repair, plumbing, and basic math for process calculations. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) used in industrial automation. Experience handling heavy equipment operation, construction projects, or tanker operations is advantageous. Strong analysis skills for interpreting data collected from treatment processes and making informed adjustments. Ability to perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting and long periods of standing or walking in a plant environment. Pay:
$22.27 - $26.82 per hour
