Job Description

Wastewater Collections Technician Performs manual work in various maintenance tasks within the Wastewater Division. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Wastewater Field Operations Supervisor and/or Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Perform heavy manual labor, such as digging, lifting, placing pipes, laying pipes, etc., safely and efficiently in a field environment. Mows and weeds grassy areas using small equipment. Maintain sludge areas, sludge truck, and clean drying beds. Assists in the maintenance and repairs of gravity lines, force mains, lift stations, and plant facilities. Assists in repairing backed-up sewers, refurbishment of collection system, and R&R operation of lift stations. Assists in locating and flagging sewer lines, valves as needed Performs preventative maintenance as needed on various tools and equipment. Performs helper and semi-skilled tasks in line cleaning and CCTV inspection. Complete daily work orders accurately, neatly, and timely. Must be available to work in the event of a disaster to assist with recovery response efforts. (These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of general wastewater maintenance tasks and procedures. Ability to perform heavy manual labor under adverse weather conditions, noxious fumes, raw sewage, and bugs. Ability to read, write, and follow directions Ability to use a computer to include data entry and Office 365 Suite. Skill in operation and maintenance of equipment and tools related to the position. Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekend duty, and emergency callouts.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or acceptable equivalency diploma. One (1) year related manual labor experience preferred. (A comparable amount of training, education or experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS
Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License.

Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction) Acceptable hearing (with or without correction) Moderate to heavy (45 pounds and over) lifting and carrying Walking, standing, stooping, driving, kneeling, bending, climbing
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Works outside in various weather conditions with dust, dirt, fumes, raw sewage, and bugs.
