Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Water Treatment Operator to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining water and wastewater treatment systems to ensure safe, clean water quality. Your expertise will help uphold environmental standards and support community health. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced control systems, heavy equipment, and a variety of technical processes that keep water flowing efficiently and safely. Responsibilities Operate and control water treatment and wastewater treatment equipment using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to maintain optimal system performance. Conduct routine inspections, data collection, and analysis of treatment processes to identify issues early and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Perform equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on pumps, valves, filters, and other mechanical components. Manage heavy equipment operation including tankers, cranes, or other construction machinery necessary for plant maintenance or upgrades. Monitor chemical dosing systems and adjust parameters as needed to meet water quality standards. Maintain detailed records of system operations, maintenance activities, and data logs for reporting purposes. Assist in construction projects or upgrades by supporting plumbing work, heavy lifting tasks, or installation of new equipment. Requirements Proven experience operating programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS). Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform equipment repair and routine maintenance. Basic math skills for data analysis, measurement conversions, and process calculations. Knowledge of water treatment processes including wastewater treatment is highly desirable. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various conditions. Physical capability for heavy lifting, climbing ladders, or working in confined spaces as required. Familiarity with plumbing systems and general construction practices is a plus. Pay:
