Licensed Wastewater Operator Fulton County Wastewater Partners is seeking experienced Licensed Wastewater Operators to support the operation and maintenance of municipal wastewater treatment facilities. This role is ideal for a reliable operator who is confident working independently, understands plant operations, and can effectively troubleshoot and maintain equipment. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain treatment plant equipment, including pumps, valves, motors, belt presses, and disinfection systems Conduct routine sampling, testing, and system monitoring to ensure proper plant performance Accurately document operational data, including flows, chemical usage, and maintenance activities Diagnose and repair issues involving treatment equipment, instrumentation, and electrical systems Respond to after-hours callouts and emergency situations as required Maintain facility cleanliness, safety, and security standards Communicate with clients and customers on routine operational matters Coordinate and support maintenance activities at the facility Must be available to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Minimum 1 year of water/wastewater operations experience Active Georgia Wastewater Operator License (appropriate to facility classification) Valid Driver's License (CDL preferred) Technical Skills Working knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and plant operations Experience with mechanical equipment, pumps, motors, and basic electrical systems Ability to follow operating procedures, manuals, and safety protocols Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, data entry, reporting) Professional Competencies Clear and professional communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation Ability to identify issues, troubleshoot efficiently, and escalate when necessary Self-directed with the ability to manage tasks independently Flexible and dependable with changing priorities and schedules Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move 50-60 pounds regularly Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions Ability to climb ladders, walk frequently, and access confined spaces Why Join Our Team Stable, essential operations role with consistent work Opportunity to work independently and take ownership of your facility Supportive team environment with opportunities for continued development To support a safe and secure workplace, all offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of background screening, drug testing, and driving record review where applicable.
