You will The incumbent evalues operional costs to ensure his unit is being opered within budget constraints and makes recommendions to higher management if excessive costs are incurred. You will maintain tendance records and time cards, various operional reports, chemical consumption, preventive maintenance records, and daily logs on each operional shift. You will work closely with the Wastewer Maintenance Supervisor to keep him/her abreast of ongoing work, equipment breakdowns, operional deficiencies, and general conditions of the wastewer collection system and its appurtenances. PHYSICAL EFFORT
Work while performing administrive items is generally sedentary. Site s are required which involve considerable walking, standing on concrete floors, and climbing stairways and ladders. Light to modere physical effort is necessary to turn valves and controls. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 18 kilograms (40 pounds) unassisted and occasionally lift and carry heavier items with assistance of other workers or with lifting devices.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works indoors and occasionally outside for short periods subject to prevailing weher conditions. Exposed to constant noise, roting machinery, dirt, grease, chemicals, oil, and fumes in the work area. Subject to cuts and abrasions from the use of tools and equipment and burns from chemicals. Occasionally works on cwalks and ladders. During site s, required to follow prescribed safety practices and use safety equipment such as face shields, gloves, hard-toe shoes, respirors, and protective clothing. Some of these safety items may be uncomfortable to wear and may be worn or used for long periods.
