Job Description

The Salt Creek Sanitary District is seeking applicants for a Plant Operator position. This is an excellent opportunity for both entry-level and experienced candidates. The schedule includes three weekdays and one weekend day, consisting of 10-hour shifts with a flexible start time. Compensation for this position is based on IEPA wastewater operator certification levels. Applicants must provide proof of knowledge, qualifications, and certification. Relevant experience and individual qualifications will also be taken into consideration when determining the starting pay rate. Hiring pay ranges are as follows: Operator in
Training:
$46,990 to $56,455 Operator Certified Class 4: $57,500 to $67,573 Operator Certified Class 3: $62,500 to $71,990 Operator Certified Class 2: $67,500 to $74,793 Operator Certified Class 1: $74,500 to $77,895 Benefits The district offers a generous benefits package including health, dental, vision and life insurance. Participation in IMRF is required and the district also offers a 457 deferred compensation plan. Paid time off (PTO) includes vacation time, 3 personal days/year, 12 sick days/year, and 8 holidays. Bonus for each successful completion of IEPA WW certification. Clothing paid for by district along with a work shoe allowance. Tuition reimbursement and education assistance available. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational/technical training is a plus This position requires a valid Illinois Driver's License. Illinois Class 4 Wastewater Operator Certification is required within 2 years of start date. Training materials will be provided. Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Performs daily plant inspections. Operates and maintains various equipment Responds to and takes appropriate corrective actions to alarms at the plant. Troubleshoots and repairs equipment as able Tasks involve the regular and sustained performance of moderately physical, demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling moderately heavy objects and materials, commonly 20 to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
