Job Description

Licensed Water Treatment Operator Greentown, Indiana Primary Responsibilities Operate and control water treatment facilities to ensure optimal performance. Conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform repairs on pumps, valves, filters, and other treatment infrastructure. Collect and analyze data related to water quality parameters, flow rates, chemical levels, and system performance to maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Perform preventive maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs, mechanical adjustments, and equipment calibration to maximize operational efficiency. Document operational activities, maintenance records, and incident reports accurately for regulatory audits and continuous improvement. Assist with infrastructure repair as needed. Assist with other town operational functions as needed. Requirements Valid license for Drinking Water Treatment issued by the appropriate regulatory agency. Experience operating programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) in water or wastewater facilities. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment. Familiarity with water treatment processes including filtration, disinfection, chemical dosing, and sludge management. Ability to perform basic math calculations for chemical dosages, flow measurements, and data analysis. Physical capability for heavy lifting, heavy equipment operation, construction tasks, and performing routine maintenance activities. Knowledge of plumbing systems and general maintenance procedures required for facility upkeep. Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for data collection and quality assurance purposes.
