Job Description

Job Summary The City of Jasper is seeking a reliable and motivated Line Crew Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing sewer collection lines and manholes to help ensure the safe and efficient operation of the municipal wastewater system. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working outdoors, operating equipment, and collaborating with supervisors and team members to maintain system integrity and compliance with City Ordinances. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs of sewer collection lines and manholes. Interpret work orders, specifications, maps, and related documentation. Assist in identifying maintenance needs and recommending repairs or improvements. Consult with supervisors regarding inventory levels, equipment needs, and the condition of sewer collection infrastructure. Operate and maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment used in sewer system maintenance activities. Assist supervisors in ensuring compliance with applicable City Ordinances and regulations related to the installation and maintenance of sewer collection lines and manholes. Follow all safety procedures and departmental policies. Respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Licenses and Certifications Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of hire. Must obtain and maintain a valid Indiana Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or higher within one (1) year of employment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to read and interpret work orders, specifications, and technical documents. Basic knowledge of construction, utility maintenance, or wastewater collection systems preferred. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with supervisors and coworkers. Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions. Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials. Ability to work in confined spaces, around excavations, and in outdoor environments. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform manual labor for extended periods. Pay:
$17.00 - $29.74 per hour
