Wastewater Operator (Day Shift, 12-Hour Rotation)

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Wastewater Operator on the day shift, working a 12-hour rotating (2-2-3) schedule that keeps our water treatment processes running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and safety regulations. Your expertise will help protect public health and preserve natural resources while supporting the ongoing success of our water management operations. Responsibilities Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems, including pumps, valves, and chemical feeders, to ensure optimal performance. Perform routine equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Collect data on water quality parameters, analyze trends, and adjust processes accordingly to meet regulatory standards. Conduct heavy equipment operation such as tanker trucks for chemical deliveries or sludge removal as needed. Maintain detailed logs of operations, inspections, maintenance activities, and data collection efforts. Respond to process upsets and abnormal conditions. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. Follow all safety procedures and company policies. Experience Prior experience operating wastewater treatment facilities or related operational / mechanical equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Basic math skills for data analysis, process calculations, and troubleshooting procedures. Knowledge of water & wastewater treatment processes, Industrial maintenance, laboratory processes. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments. Demonstrated analysis skills for monitoring system performance and diagnosing issues efficiently.
