Job Description
Industrial Waste Water Operator I Job Summary. Under supervision of the Chief Wastewater Operator, is responsible for the proper operation of the Grade 3-Industrial Wastewater treatment plant, maintaining proper reports and records, maintenance of the Wastewater plant and maintaining chemical supply.
Essential Responsibilities:
Performs periodic walkthroughs and signs operator log as directed by Chief Operator Performs trouble-shooting, preventive & corrective maintenance on waste water equipment and systems on time and in an appropriate manner. Perform daily inspection of treatment plant probes, pumps, filters, tanks, and controllers. Collect weekly samples for lab analysis Maintain proper inventory of chemicals Periodic calibration of analytical instrumentation required. Proficient in the use of tools necessary in the repair, installation and troubleshooting of equipment. Must be computer literate. Ability to work independently. Record daily readings of the treatment plant as well as daily water meter readings in specific areas throughout the production facility. Participates in and successfully completes mandatory education and/or training. Works on special projects as assigned.Skill Requirements:
Massachusetts Waste Water Grade 2-Industrial License (within 6 months) Prior work experience in a similar role. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop strong relationships.Required/Preferred Education & Experience:
Experience with computers and Microsoft Office. Experience with computer maintenance management systems (CMMS), Building Management Systems (BMC), or Building Automation Systems (BAS). Demonstrated abilities and/or evidence of training in repair, operation, and troubleshooting of waste water equipment not required but a plus. Experience operating a Dissolved Air Floatation System (DAF) is not required, but a plus.Other Duties:
Should be able to climb a ladder, reach, bend, and lift loads up to 50 lbs. independently, more with assistance. Valid driver's license. Ability to obtain a folk lift license and operate fork lift to maintain chemical inventory. Travel between Cedar's sites located in Haverhill, MA. Required to carry radio, cell phone, and to be on-call to support building operations. Positive attitude and even temperament.
