  • Reside within a 30-mile radius of Rockford MI
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated technical knowledge, mechanical reasoning, and problem-solving skills (e.g., experience in sewer systems, utility services, automotive repair, HVAC, plumbing, machining, welding, electrical or related trades).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, with availability for on-call emergency duties on a rotating basis.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • A valid driver's license must be maintained at all times.
  • Ability to perform physical work, both indoor and outdoor, in all weather conditions.
  • Most positions will require a clean driving record and a criminal background check. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in sewer and water system rehabilitation, operation, and maintenance is strongly preferred; however, we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Position Overview
  • This full-time position will cover facilities throughout the state of Michigan. This position will report to the main headquarters in Rockford, MI, and then travel to various job sites. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Troubleshooting and repairing water and wastewater equipment
  • Inspecting and assisting with the maintenance of pump stations, meter stations, and grinder pumps
  • Assisting with preventive and corrective maintenance of plant equipment and instrumentation
  • Assisting with the removal and replacement of wet well sewage pumps using manual and mechanical lifting equipment, including cranes, hoists, and chain falls
  • Cleaning and lubricating pumps, motors, and other plant equipment
  • Providing mechanical support to operations staff and seeking guidance from senior mechanics as needed
  • The qualified candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently while interacting effectively with co-workers, clients, and the public.
Compensation for the Mechanical Services Technician role is expected to range from $23.00 to $27.00 per hour. Final starting wage will be based on experience, skills, and overall qualifications. To learn more about our company, visit www.iaiwater.com
