Job Description

Job Summary Wastewater Operator II (1st shift preferred) Wage based upon skillset, knowledge and experience General description: Safely operate, monitor and maintain an entire process of various equipment to methodically treat industrial wastewater.
Responsibilities:
  • Adjust valves, pumps, chemical feeds and controls to operate the system efficiently.
  • Inspect, maintain and perform minor repairs on all associated process equipment.
  • Troubleshoot operations of the system and equipment malfunctions.
  • Collect samples from various locations in the system and perform routine testing according to standard methods.
Eg:
pH, Dissolved oxygen, TSS, TDS, TS, BOD, CBOD, Phosphorus, Ammonia, etc.
  • Accurately log and record operational data, meter and gauge readings
  • Safely handle various quantities of hazardous chemicals.
  • Cleaning and upkeep of wastewater process areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with Mr.
Chips policies and procedures.
Physical requirements:
  • In-person, regular attendance
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Climb ladders and stairs
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends as required, based on production or project needs.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma with basic math skills and a general understanding of biology and chemistry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team environment
  • Knowledge and proper use of hand and power tools
  • Water/wastewater treatment and/or laboratory experience preferred
Pay:
From $22.00 per hour
