Job Description

Sanitation Supervisor Confidential Saint Johns, MI Full-time Full-time Position Summary A food manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Sanitation Supervisor to lead and support sanitation programs. . This role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety, sanitation compliance, and operational excellence in a manufacturing and packaging environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing sanitation, regulatory compliance, employee training, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Schedule, supervise, and support sanitation team members to ensure all equipment, machinery, and facility sanitation requirements are met. Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Master Sanitation Schedule. Ensure sanitation tasks are completed according to established frequencies and documented procedures. Train sanitation and production employees on sanitation practices, food safety requirements, and compliance expectations. Lead sanitation improvement initiatives and recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with plant leadership, quality teams, and operations personnel to identify and resolve sanitation-related issues. Monitor compliance with safety regulations, food safety standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Manage sanitation chemical inventories and coordinate with chemical suppliers regarding product use, training, and troubleshooting. Participate in the development, implementation, and auditing of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs). Partner with external sanitation and chemical service providers to drive best practices across facilities. Promote a culture of food safety, employee safety, and continuous improvement. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Experience Minimum of 5 years of progressive sanitation experience within a food manufacturing environment, including supervisory responsibilities. Strong understanding of food processing equipment and sanitation principles.
Practical experience with:
Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems Clean-Out-of-Place (COP) systems Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) Knowledge of food safety and regulatory requirements, including:
OSHA FSMA
Sanitation Preventive Controls GMPs SSOPs Experience leading teams and driving accountability in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and team development skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities. Effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to influence change and foster employee engagement. Commitment to food safety, quality, and workplace safety.
