Water Treatment Operator - Saint Paul

The City of Saint Paul Regional Water Services is hiring a Water Treatment Operator to perform responsible work operating a large-scale public drinking water facility. Here's what you can expect to do: Control the flow of water into and throughout the treatment processes, from the incoming conduits through rapid mix, lime softening and flocculation, settling, re-carbonation, filtration and disinfection. Monitor and adjust the appropriate application of treatment chemicals during the process. Track and adjust flow rates as needed. Perform appropriate chemical analyses and monitor the chlorine residual, turbidity, alkalinity, and temperature levels. Monitor performance of plant machinery and make minor maintenance and emergency repairs. Evaluate water treatment control parameters to track plant operations and make necessary adjustments. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
