Utility Operator - Wastewater Treatment Plant

Position Summary Join our team as a Utility Operator I, where you will play a vital role in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the City's wastewater treatment facility and lift station systems. This position performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled technical duties involving wastewater treatment operations, laboratory testing, equipment maintenance, and system monitoring. Key Responsibilities Collect and test wastewater samples in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements Perform laboratory testing and maintain analytical data and required reports Monitor treatment plant and pump station equipment, gauges, and control systems Operate, maintain, repair, and replace pumps, motors, compressors, and related mechanical equipment Perform routine plant and equipment maintenance to support efficient operations Collect and test soil and bio-solids samples as needed Maintain inventory of laboratory chemicals, reagents, and supplies Identify safety hazards and report concerns to appropriate personnel Perform duties in accordance with established safety and security standards Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Two (2) years of experience in a wastewater utility or related field preferred Valid Missouri Commercial Class "B" driver's license with Air Brake and Tank endorsements, or ability to obtain Ability to obtain a Missouri State Wastewater Class "D" license within six (6) months of employment Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered Additional Information Monday - Friday 7am to 4pm Required emergency standby rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and equipment operation required Must maintain required certifications

Pay:

$19.12 - $24.65 per hour
