Sanitation Supervisor - 2nd
ShiftFood Production FacilityDirect Hire/PermShift:
Monday - Friday 2:30-11pm (Occasional 1/2 days on Saturdays, not often)We are seeking an experienced food safety-centric Sanitation Supervisor for a role that oversees all sanitation activities on 2nd shift at our food processing/production environment, ensuring the facility, equipment, and production areas meet food safety, regulatory, and company standards. This role leads a team of sanitation employees, coordinates daily cleaning tasks, and verifies that sanitation procedures are completed accurately and on time.

Key ResponsibilitiesShift leadership Oversee all sanitation employees on 2nd shift, including task assignments, coaching, and performance monitoring.

Sanitation procedures Ensure all cleaning and sanitizing tasks are completed according to established SSOPs and regulatory requirements.

Food safety compliance Verify compliance with FDA, USDA, GMP, and company food safety standards.

Training and development Train team members on sanitation methods, chemical handling, and safety procedures.

Inspection and verification Conduct pre operational and post operational inspections to confirm equipment and areas are ready for production.

Documentation Maintain accurate sanitation logs, checklists, and regulatory documentation.

Chemical management Ensure proper use, storage, and concentration of cleaning chemicals.

Safety enforcement Promote and enforce safety rules, PPE use, and safe work practices.

Problem solving Identify sanitation issues and implement corrective actions.

Cross functional communication Communicate with production, maintenance, and quality teams regarding sanitation status and needs.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
A Bachelor of Food Science, Quality or other applicable field is a
PLUS.EXPERIENCE
Seeking those with 2 or more years of sanitation AND Sanitation team leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment.

Leadership skills Prior experience leading or supervising a team.

Regulatory knowledge Understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety standards.

Technical skills Ability to operate sanitation equipment and understand SSOPs.

Physical requirements Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in wet or cold environments.

Communication skills Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Shift availability Must be able to work 2nd shift and occasional weekends or overtime.

Work EnvironmentFood production facility with wet, humid, and cold areasUse of cleaning chemicals and high pressure hosesFast paced environment with strict sanitation and safety standards
