Job Description

WASTE WATER/WATER TECHNICIAN JOB OPENING
The City of Bay Springs is currently taking applications for a full-time position in the Waste Water/Water Department. Applicant must have a strong work ethic, strong communication skills, and strong computer and math skills. Must have a valid driver's license and preferably live within 30 miles of the City of Bay Springs. The job will require a minimum 40-hour work week with occasional overtime. Will be on call after hours during evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is an hourly pay rate position with competitive rate. Job duties include, but are not limited to: daily checking of wells, maintenance at waste water facilities, and data recording at waste water facilities. This employee will also be subject to helping the maintenance crew with their regular working responsibilities. The employee must be willing to take responsibility and go through advance trainings for this position. Salary will depend on the employee's experience in waste water. Experience is not necessary but is a bonus. Successful completion of a probationary period will be required to attain regular employment, after which time the applicant will be eligible for group medical, dental and life insurance, participation in a state retirement plan, and a tax-deferred savings plan. The pay scale is set by the Board of Aldermen.
