Landfill Operations Supervisor

Our Asheboro Landfill is a critical infrastructure asset within our logistics network, and we're seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead daily operations with efficiency, regulatory compliance, and a focus on continuous improvement.

Position Summary:

The Operations Supervisor will oversee all operational, personnel, P&L, and compliance-related aspects of the Asheboro Landfill. This role ensures the facility operates within all regulatory standards while maintaining high levels of productivity, environmental safety, and team performance.

Pay:

$65,000-$75,000

Core Responsibilities:

Direct all daily landfill operations, including waste acceptance, placement, compaction, and cover application. Maintain a controlled, properly sized working face and ensure efficient traffic flow for customer drop-offs. Oversee heavy equipment operations (e.g., dozers, compactors, loaders, water trucks) and personally operate equipment up to 50% of the time. Implement and enforce site operating plans, SOPs, and permit requirements. Coordinate with scale house operations to ensure accurate waste tracking and reporting. Enforce all federal, state (NCDEQ), and local regulatory standards, including OSHA, DOT, and environmental compliance requirements. Manage site budgets, operating costs, and equipment maintenance schedules. Conduct monthly P&L reviews and lead P&L presentations, ensuring financial understanding and accountability. Supervise on-site staff including operators, and third-party vendors. Conduct site inspections, complete incident reports, and maintain regulatory documentation Coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, and safety checks to ensure operational readiness. Assist in training and mentoring team members; enforce safety policies and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

3+ years in construction, landfill, or similar operations leadership role Strong understanding of waste stream management, regulatory compliance, and heavy equipment Demonstrated ability to manage crews and coordinate with multiple departments Comfortable working outdoors in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment Why Liberty Waste Solutions?
