POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Manufacturing Sanitation Supervisor will lead all aspects of the Sanitation Team's work and oversee their training, scheduling, performance, and adherence to company policies. This position will coordinate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Maintenance to implement and refine the Manufacturing Sanitation & Purified Water Program. The Manufacturing Sanitation Supervisor will lead the program through both tactical and strategic initiatives in accordance with established company procedures, quality standards and government or regulatory guidelines to ensure a sound Manufacturing Sanitation & Purified Water Program.DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Maintain a good working relationship with employees through strong interpersonal and oral communications, teamwork, counseling, and fair and consistent enforcement of Company policies and procedures.
- Plan, lead and direct Sanitation Team personnel to achieve short and long-term departmental objectives
- Ensure Sanitation Team is properly trained and competent in all technical aspects of their positions
- Actively promote and maintain a safe work environment
- Establish staffing guidelines and distribute workload so as to deliver maximum results
- Maintain two way dialog with team members on work and results
- Communicate company and departmental goals and objectives, assuring that these are clearly understood by the team
- Complete and maintain all necessary documentation, including applicable current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) documents
- Ensure programs are defined, implemented, and effective for all aspects of Manufacturing Sanitation & Purified Water Program, including :
- Master Manufacturing Sanitation Schedule - develop/define appropriate cleaning frequency
- schedule for facility and manufacturing equipment, and ensure compliance to scheduling
- Cleaning Procedures - verify cleaning procedures are defined for all equipment on the Master Manufacturing Sanitation Schedule; procedures are followed and are effective.
- Sustain a strong working relationship with the contracted chemical supplier to ensure controls for manufacturing sanitation chemicals. These controls cover utilization, testing, inventory, accurate labeling, and safety, in accordance with Herbalife and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor purified water system, maintain effective relationship with contracted purified water system suppliers to ensure controls for sanitization chemicals, water system preventive maintenance supplies, including utilization, testing, inventories, proper labeling, and safety, and are aligned with Herbalife and regulatory requirements.
- Serves as the Winston Salem representative to the Herbalife Global Sanitation Team.
- Empowers the Manufacturing Sanitation team to enforce Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Takes ownership of department deficiencies and implements countermeasures by prioritizing conflicting priorities to best support operations. Communicates deficiencies and countermeasures to the Plant Services Manager.
- Personally understands manufacturing cleaning procedures for environmental and equipment.
- Develops and report Manufacturing Sanitation & Purified Water Program KPI's.
- Keeps abreast of all current and new sanitation technologies.
- Maintains records and places orders for all chemicals used in cleaning and sanitizing.
- Oversees sanitation equipment—including high-pressure guns, portable foamers, forklifts, scrubbers,
- Other duties assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads a team of up to 12 employees across multiple shifts, in addition, this position will coordinate (temps, contractors, vendors, etc.) in regards to the Manufacturing Sanitation & Purified Water Program.
- Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- A proven track record of establishing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal customers, vendors, and direct team members.
- Project Management skills
- Skilled in computer applications and systems
- Must have a valid Driver's License with a driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier.
Experience:
- 5 years of work experience using cGMP or other documentation principles. i.e. sanitation records, pest management experience, inventory or regulatory procedures.
- Two years of supervisory experience, following and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures as well as safety.
- Knowledge of cGMP, FDA and other pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
Education:
- Two year technical degree from accredited institution or equivalent work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience
- Familiarity with North Carolina and /or Federal sanitation requirements for a food or dietary supplement manufacturer.
