Job Description
Water and Sewer Operator Job Summary Performs technical work involving the operation and maintenance of a water and wastewater treatment plant. Perform repairs and routine maintenance on water distribution system, fire hydrants, service lines, mainline piping, meters. Performs repairs and routine maintenance on wastewater collection and septage receiving station. Assists in the general maintenance on facilities and grounds such as snow removal, mowing and trimming, building maintenance. Weekend coverage of the facilities are a requirement and will be done on a rotating basis. Response to emergencies outside of normal working hours will be required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Knowledge of basic math and chemistry. Knowledge of basic mechanics, plumbing, and electronics. Ability to record data accurately. Ability to perform routine laboratory tests and analysis. Ability to perform minor maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other departments, employees, other agencies, and general public. Requirements High School diploma or equivalent and at least one year of related experience and/or training in water/wastewater treatment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. NH Water Works Operations Licenses T1 and D1 and WW Treatment 1 desired. Preference will be given to candidates with Water Distribution experience and/or experience installing/repairing water pipeline. Salary & Benefits Starting Hourly Range of $26.43 to $29.00 Benefits include Medical, Dental, Life, Disability Insurance and Retirement.
