Job Description

Position Summary The Sanitation Supervisor contributes to our success by monitoring the sanitation process and sanitary design for the facility. They will also insure compliance with regulatory, Good Manufacturing Practices and sanitary expectations. Supervisory responsibilities include leading a team. This position supports plant sanitation in the effective use of chemicals, COP and CIP cleaning processes, sanitation equipment, sanitary design of equipment, valve function and design, setting standards for maintaining CIP equipment, and determining hardest points-to-clean for physical inspections and regulatory aspects of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs). Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities Monitor nightly sanitation of the facility and visually inspect area's to ensure that they are clean Monitor Pre-op process Assure SSOP compliance Facilitate Sanitation, Maintenance, Operations communications regarding sanitation needs for the facility Implement Corporate Sanitation policies and procedures Implement, revise and track master sanitation schedule Develop sanitation procedures for new equipment as needed Provide guidance and training for Sanitation Team to ensure that personnel Safety and Food Safety policies/procedures, GMP's and plant rules are followed and adhered to. Conduct new hire employee performance reviews Responsible for shift schedule to include: work station assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, and back-up for absent employees. Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, changeovers and sanitation. Coordinate with Human Resources for appropriate staffing levels including turnover and needs relating to product volumes. Schedule and conduct shift meetings to review safety concerns and performance along with plant performance compared to expectations.. Review, update, and operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) Communicate with other Supervisors, Quality Manager, and/or Managing Director You are responsible to act as backup for employees you are directly supervising unless backup is specified within the process's procedure. Ensure that all sanitation documentation is filled out properly and filed Education and Experience Requirements Bachelors Degree Preferred 3-5 years' Experience Supervising Sanitation activities in a Food Manufacturing Required Experience Supervising in a Union environment preferred Experience with MS Office and ERP system required Experience with 3rd party auditing and standards
