Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated Temporary Water Treatment Technician to support our water treatment operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with water and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards while gaining valuable industry experience. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to vital water management processes. Duties With minimum supervision, takes daily water samples throughout the hospital, tests for PH and bacteria levels. Must be able to balance multiple short and long range tasks and monitor deadlines. Organize daily testing locations according to critical care units. Analyze every finding according to PH levels, temperature and chlorine dioxide levels. Must be proficient at using reagents and other additives to test water samples and make adjustments to guarantee water safety / quality of taste/ smell. Requires the knowledge and expertise to understand and adjust chemical levels for the removal of harmful bacteria and organisms. Handles a variety of material and subject matter of a sensitive or confidential nature. Remedies or reports problem to supervisor or transfers to appropriate trade group. Acts as liaison with customers, medical staff, co-workers on a daily basis. Also interfaces with Infection Control and Microbiology Departments. The ability to read and interpret gauges and utilize other measuring or mechanical devices. Strong listening skills are required as to follow precise instructions provided by supervision. The job requires strong organization skills. Be kept informed with local regional, state and federal water quality standards and make sure they are consistently met. Performs basic and routine level work commonly assigned to other trades. Skills Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) used in water treatment facilities. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment repair and maintenance. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely, including tankers and construction machinery. Basic math skills for data collection, measurements, and calculations related to water quality analysis. Excellent analysis skills for interpreting system data and troubleshooting issues effectively. Familiarity with plumbing systems, mechanical components, and general maintenance practices. Physical capability for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, bending, and performing manual tasks as needed in a construction or operational environment.
