Full Job Description Wastewater Superintendent Compensation:
Up to $160K+ Annual Bonus + Vehicle/Allowance + Full Benefits My client is one of the most respected builders in the Midwest and is actively expanding its Water & Wastewater division due to a substantial increase in awarded work and upcoming infrastructure projects. (Over $1B backlog) Unlike many contractors, this team hires ahead of demand. Their philosophy is to bring on the right people, immerse them in the culture and processes, and position them for long-term success before staffing them on new work. Responsibilities Provide overall management of field operations on water and wastewater projects Coordinate labor, equipment, subcontractors, drawings, and specifications Create and manage project schedules, including short-term look-ahead planning Drive safety, quality, production, and project execution Identify and mitigate project risks before they impact the schedule Manage field staff, foremen, and trade partners Participate in project planning, change order pricing, and project closeout activities Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, owners, and municipal stakeholders Maintain accurate project documentation, daily reports, and production tracking Mentor and develop future field leaders within the organization Ideal Background 5+ years of Superintendent experience on: Water Treatment Plants Wastewater Treatment Plants Pump Stations Utility Infrastructure Heavy Civil Projects Strong understanding of: Concrete structures Underground utilities Process piping Mechanical systems Sitework and civil construction Experience managing self-perform crews and subcontractors Ability to lead projects while maintaining strong relationships with clients and project teams Benefits Annual performance bonus Vehicle allowance/company vehicle options Excellent healthcare coverage 401(k) with company contribution Paid time off and holidays Long-term career growth opportunities Why This Role Tends To Stand Out One of the strongest water/wastewater backlogs in the Midwest Several major infrastructure projects expected to ramp up over the next 12-24 months Multi-hundred-million-dollar opportunities already in pursuit or preconstruction Strong history of repeat clients and negotiated work In-house scheduling and BIM/modeling support teams Leadership team focused on hiring for long-term fit rather than filling immediate openings Culture built around collaboration, mentorship, community involvement, and employee development Opportunity to join a company positioned for significant growth in the water resources market over the next several years
