Job Description

We are hiring a full-time Chief Wastewater Operator to lead on-site operations at our digester facilities in Minster, OH . This role requires a current OhioIndustrial Wastewater Treatment Operator certificate, Grade II or higher. The Chief Wastewater Operator serves at the senior technical authority for all wastewater treatment and anaerobic digestion opeartsion at the facility. This role is responsble for overseeing process performance, leading a team of opertors, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continous improvemen. The Chief Operator must communicate effectively with plant operators, outside vendors, regulatory contacts, and management. This is a flexible role that may include on-call or weekend hours. The schedule will be determined. Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day oversight and monitoring of plant and equipment performance, including hydraulic flows, temperatures, pH, COD, VFA, pressures, and renewable power generation. Serve as the primary technical authority for the biological process, feedstock receiving, hydraulic pumping, chemical feed systems, filtration, phosphorus sequestration, solids removal, and biogas utilization. Supervise, train, and mentor wastewater opertors; assign takss, provide performance feedback, and support staff development. Oversee compliance audits, safety inspections, and routine reporting; upload results into the required tracking system. Drive facility optimization including feedstock volume, effluent volume, and renewable energy production. Manage inventory of consumables (chemicals, reagents, and spare parts) using CMMS and coordinate wiht cendros, contractors, and maintenance technicians. Ensure compliance with state and local wastewater, air quality, and solid waste permits. Maintain an active Ohio Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator License and complete continuing education requirements. Required Skills & Experience Current Ohio Grade II Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator certificate (or higher),required. 5+ years of relevant experience in wastewater operations, anaerobic digestion, RNG, or in industrial treatment. Deep familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems including pumps, piping, electric motors, generators, instruments, and basic building maintenance. Experience with the use of PLC's, controls, and instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, pH). Strong computer skills including spreadsheets, email, PDF's, document downloading, ordering, cost reporting, & timesheets. Experience coordinating and working with welders, plumbers, electricians, insulators, and startup technicians. Experience using a
CMMS - FIIX
experience, preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable Transportation Physical Requirements Work is performed indoors and outdoors year-round. Must be able to stand, bend, walk, climb, lift up to 75 lbs, and work overhead, on ladders, on tanks, and confined spaces.
