Job Description We are seeking a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to perform a variety of operational and maintenance duties at a water and wastewater treatment facility. This role is responsible for monitoring treatment processes, operating plant equipment, conducting routine testing, performing maintenance activities, and ensuring safe and efficient facility operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in an industrial environment. Candidates with water/wastewater treatment experience or certifications are highly encouraged to apply.

Pay:

$20.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Operate water and wastewater treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water, wastewater, sludge, and effluent Start and stop pumps, engines, generators, valves, and gates to regulate treatment processes Monitor gauges, meters, control panels, and plant equipment Maintain operational logs and record meter and gauge readings Collect samples and perform routine laboratory testing and analysis Perform routine equipment maintenance and custodial duties Observe, identify, and report equipment abnormalities or operational concerns Follow oral and written instructions and safety procedures Maintain positive working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and customers Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a water or wastewater treatment facility Water and/or wastewater treatment certification or ability to obtain certification Knowledge of pumps, engines, valves, and related equipment Understanding of basic biological and chemical principles Familiarity with general maintenance practices and safe work procedures

Work Environment:

This position involves both indoor and outdoor work and may require exposure to varying weather conditions, loud noise, machinery, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights, chemicals, airborne particles, and other industrial hazards. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
