Job Description

General Position Summary:
Primary responsibilities are day-to-day operations of the Port of Morrow's Anaerobic Digesters. This position will also expand into operations of Secondary Treatment Plant operations.
Essential Functions/major responsibilities:
Operations of the anaerobic digester and secondary treatment facility in compliance with all standards and regulations. Operates equipment and machinery used in the treatment process daily. Responsible for maintaining operations 24/7, 365 days a year in a safe and effective manner. Responsible for collecting wastewater and gas samples. Responsible for running operational and lab sample tests. Responsible for daily of operations of digester and secondary treatment facility.
Secondary Functions:
This position will collaborate daily with executive management, engineering, and maintenance departments to ensure continuous, uninterrupted operations of the digester and secondary treatment facility is maintained. Schedule all major maintenance with the POM maintenance department. Perform minor maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks when able. Daily reports, inspections, and documentation of all digester and secondary treatment functions, including internal reports, DEQ permit required documentation and tasks. Perform farm inspections. Secondary Treatment Plant Manger Specific Job Skills:
Organized, punctual, adaptable, computer‑literate, and able to communicate effectively while solving problems. Ability to follow proper sample collection procedures. Ability to adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and Port policies. Demonstrated technical skills relevant to wastewater treatment operations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Wastewater Collections/Wastewater Treatment Certification Level I or ability to obtain within 2 years. A valid driver's license Pass a
Background Check and Pre-employment Drug Screen Preferred Certification:
CPR/First aid CDL with air brake endorsement and tanker endorsement. 1 year or more experience in wastewater collections systems, wastewater treatment, water treatment or water distribution. Wastewater Collections/Wastewater Treatment Certification Level II or higher
Job Conditions:
The position will be a combination of field and office work. While performing the duties of this job in the field, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions, extreme heat or extreme cold. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places. The employee occasionally is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock or vibration. Some of the duties of this job will be in a small professional office environment where all staff members are expected to assist one another to meet the needs of the Port.
