Full-time GPAC has partnered with a well-established and reputable construction contractor who is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead complex site development, utility, and water/wastewater infrastructure projects. This key leadership role is responsible for the safety, quality, efficiency, production, and timely completion of heavy civil projects. Key Responsibilities Oversee all field operations for heavy civil site development projects, with primary focus on water, wastewater, pump stations, water mains, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and large-scale utilities Develop, refine, and manage project schedules, including two-week look-ahead forecasts Interpret contract drawings, specifications, and mass excavation diagrams to plan and execute efficient earthmoving, grading, and site preparation operations Coordinate subcontractors, material vendors, and field crews to ensure project milestones are met Manage project costs, company assets, and daily production rates Enforce company safety policies, quality standards, and core values daily Lead weekly foreman meetings and develop daily crew assignments Maintain strong working relationships with owners, engineers, and inspectors Ensure full regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, local, state, and federal regulations) Create and manage project documentation, including daily reports, quantity tracking, and as-builts Support estimating with production rates, manpower, and equipment needs during bidding Qualifications & Experience (Required) Minimum 10+ years of progressive responsibility supervising heavy civil construction projects Strong background in water, wastewater, utilities, and heavy civil site development is essential Proven experience with mass excavation, grading, earthwork, storm drainage, water mains, sanitary sewers, and pump stations Ability to read and interpret complex civil drawings, specifications, and mass excavation diagrams Experience managing large crews, multiple subcontractors, and high-value projects ($10M+ preferred) Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively to project sites Preferred Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree Experience with water/wastewater construction Proficiency with heavy equipment production (dozers, excavators, loaders, scrapers, compactors) Familiarity with scheduling software (Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project) What Our Client Offers Competitive salary + performance bonuses 100% Employee-Owned (ESOP) Comprehensive benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, 401(k) Company vehicle + fuel card Per diem when traveling Strong commitment to safety and employee development Apply Today!
