In this vital role, you will operate, monitor, and maintain water treatment facilities to ensure the delivery of safe, clean drinking water and effective wastewater management. Your expertise will help protect public health, support environmental sustainability, and keep our community thriving. Responsibilities Operate and control water treatment and wastewater facilities using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to ensure optimal performance. Conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform repairs on pumps, valves, filters, and other treatment infrastructure. Collect and analyze data related to water quality parameters, flow rates, chemical levels, and system performance to maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Monitor heavy equipment operation such as tankers and construction machinery involved in plant maintenance or upgrades. Perform preventive maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs, mechanical adjustments, and equipment calibration to maximize operational efficiency. Manage heavy lifting tasks safely during equipment installation or replacement projects while adhering to safety protocols. Document operational activities, maintenance records, and incident reports accurately for regulatory audits and continuous improvement. Requirements Valid dual licenses for Drinking Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment issued by the appropriate regulatory agency. Experience operating programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) in water or wastewater facilities. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment. Familiarity with water treatment processes including filtration, disinfection, chemical dosing, and sludge management. Ability to perform basic math calculations for chemical dosages, flow measurements, and data analysis. Physical capability for heavy lifting, heavy equipment operation, construction tasks, and performing routine maintenance activities. Knowledge of plumbing systems and general maintenance procedures required for facility upkeep. Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for data collection and quality assurance purposes.
