Job Description

The Waste Water Operator is responsible for the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment systems and related equipment to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards. The operator will perform routine inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and recordkeeping while maintaining efficient plant operations. Why Recruiting Solutions? Conduct routine inspections of pumps, motors, tanks, valves, filters, and control systems. Collect wastewater samples and perform laboratory testing as required. Maintain accurate operational logs, reports, and compliance records. Adjust chemical feed rates and treatment processes to maintain system efficiency. Respond to alarms, emergencies, and equipment malfunctions promptly. Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on treatment equipment. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the treatment facility. Assist with installation and calibration of equipment when needed. Work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, or on-call schedules as required. Qualifications Required Valid Class D Wastewater Operator License (state-specific). High school diploma or GED. Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read gauges, meters, blueprints, and technical manuals. Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and safety procedures. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Experience operating wastewater treatment facilities. SCADA system experience. Basic computer and data entry skills. Additional water or wastewater certifications. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in confined spaces and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions. Ability to wear required PPE including respirators, gloves, and safety equipment .
