Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Wastewater Treatment Specialist to join our dynamic environmental services team. In this vital role, you will oversee the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and optimizing treatment processes. Alu Materials America (AMA) is a growing aluminum extrusion and anodizing manufacturing company launching a new facility in Halls, TN. We are seeking a Wastewater Treatment Specialist to support the startup and operation of our industrial wastewater systems. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will help build processes from the ground up and ensure environmental compliance for a 24/7 manufacturing operation. Duties Startup & System Setup Assist with installation, startup, and commissioning of wastewater treatment systems Operations & Maintenance Operate and maintain: Chemical treatment systems Pumps, tanks, filtration units, and clarifiers Monitor system performance and adjust chemical dosing Troubleshoot and resolve system issues quickly to avoid production downtime Testing & Process Control Perform testing such as: pH, TSS, COD, BOD, and metals Analyze results and adjust treatment processes as needed Maintain lab equipment and ensure accuracy Compliance & Reporting Ensure compliance with: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) State of Tennessee environmental regulations Maintain logs, reports, and documentation Support inspections, audits, and corrective actions Safety & Teamwork Follow all safety procedures (PPE, LOTO, confined space, etc.) Work closely with Maintenance, Production, and EHS teams Communicate issues and improvements clearly Work with engineering and vendors to ensure systems are fully operational Help develop procedures and processes for wastewater operation
What We're Looking For Required:
2+ years of wastewater treatment or industrial experience Basic understanding of environmental compliance Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work in an industrial environment
Preferred:
Wastewater Operator Certification (TN preferred) Experience in manufacturing or chemical processing Experience with anodizing wastewater (highly preferred) Familiarity with
SCADA/PLC
systems Basic Excel/data tracking skills
Pay:
$26.00 - $35.00 per hour
