7-month contract (with possible extension and/or conversion)
Job Overview:
The Wastewater Technician II is a mid-level position within Industrial Wastewater Operations, responsible for independently conducting industrial wastewater treatment on all water streams using a variety of treatment technologies and chemical applications. This role requires experience in petroleum recovery operations and proficiency in waste stream sampling, tanker transfers, waste stream QA/QC, bench testing, treat code assignments, batch wastewater treatment, and basic petroleum recovery processes. The position also demands strong mechanical aptitude in liquids management and the ability to troubleshoot transfer operations effectively. In addition, the technician will be cross trained to perform sludge press operations, tank washing, and non-bulk operations to support overall facility efficiency and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform basic chemical analysis such as pH, flash point, FOG, solids, PCB, Halogen, ICP-MS, and ammonia. Operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, yard dog, high vac trucks, wheel loaders, excavators, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other power tools in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as Occupational Health and Safety requirements. Sampling tanker trucks and containers. Using a hose connection and unloading tanker trucks. Performing waste stream QA/QC & lab analysis. Performing oil line and wastewater treatment line operations. Submit all associated paperwork, as required, for regulatory and safety record keeping requirements.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED required 1-2 years of experience Ability to kneel, crawl, stoop, bend, and twist for extended periods of time. Ability to lift over 50 pounds Ability to pass respirator fit test 40-hour
HAZWOPER
certification First aid/CPR/AED certification Confined space entry certification -can be obtained post hire Experience in NetSuite Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Physical Demands:
