JOB TITLE
Operator/ Maintenance Technician PRIMARY FUNCTION
Join our dynamic team as a Water/Wastewater Maintenance Technician, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining our wastewater treatment facilities. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you'll conduct essential technical and mechanical tasks, ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of treatment and conveyance facilities. Your responsibilities will extend to the maintenance of pumps, motors, blowers, and other related equipment and pipeline maintenance while maintaining a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance. This position is located in Castroville with occasional support in Uhland, TX. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain cleanliness of wastewater treatment area and conduct routine maintenance and inspection of waste storage areas Report any safety, environmental, or quality concerns and take necessary actions. Deliver exceptional customer service by fostering open communication with internal and external stakeholders Adhere to industry safety standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements Execute routine and emergency operational, maintenance, construction, and repair functions, prioritizing tasks in the field Conduct daily inspections of wastewater treatment facilities and related equipment Respond to operational emergencies as required, potentially involving on-call and shift work Assist customers with water-related concerns, ensuring quality delivery, and addressing odors and vector control Coordinate all work efforts within the framework of company safety policies and OSHA regulations Maintains a variety of operational and maintenance logs, reports, and other forms Performs ground and building maintenance Operate and maintain motor vehicle and lawn maintenance equipment Offer guidance to peers and subordinates in routine day-to-day work activities Performs other similar duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must obtain a valid TCEQ water or wastewater license within 6 months of hire date High school education or GED as a minimum Valid driver's license in the State of Texas Must pass a background check Must pass a physical exam Resides within the area of employment Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to safely operate various equipment Ability to make equipment repairs Ability to wear appropriate PPE for chemical protection Knowledge of safety regulations and established procedures for maintenance and testing WORK HOURS
The work schedule is five days per week, 8 hours per day, minimum. Work hours are subject to change depending on operational conditions and needs. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Facilities are located in Castroville, but the applicant may also occasionally be required to work in Uhland, TX. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and may require confined space entry. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
