BVR Waste & Recycling | Brannon Industrial Group (BIG)
College Station, TX Full-Time Pay:
$65,000 - $85,000 Lead Operations at a Growing Landfill Facility BVR Waste & Recycling is seeking an experienced Landfill Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our Type IV Landfill facility in College Station, Texas. This hands-on leadership position is responsible for managing landfill operations, supervising personnel, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining a safe work environment, and supporting the efficient disposal of construction and demolition materials. The ideal candidate has experience in landfill operations, heavy equipment, construction, earthmoving, or solid waste management and is ready to lead a team while helping drive operational excellence.
What You'll Do:
Operations Management Oversee daily landfill operations and site activities Direct traffic flow and waste placement within the facility Ensure proper acceptance and disposal of approved waste materials Monitor working areas, roads, drainage systems, and erosion controls Maintain landfill appearance, safety, and operational efficiency Conduct routine site inspections and identify operational improvements Assist with planning and coordinating daily workloads and priorities Team Leadership Supervise landfill operators, spotters, laborers, and contractors Schedule personnel to maintain efficient operational coverage Train employees on safety procedures, equipment operation, waste screening, and site policies Conduct safety meetings and reinforce company expectations Coach employees and support performance development Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer service Environmental & Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with TCEQ regulations, facility permits, and operational plans Monitor waste acceptance procedures and identify prohibited materials Maintain required operational records and documentation Assist during regulatory inspections and audits Implement corrective actions and operational improvements as needed Report environmental incidents, unauthorized waste, or safety concerns promptly Equipment Oversight Operate heavy equipment as needed, including: Dozers Compactors Excavators Front-End Loaders Haul Trucks Perform equipment inspections and monitor equipment condition Coordinate maintenance and repair activities Ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently Safety & Emergency Response Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements Ensure proper PPE usage and safe work practices Respond to operational emergencies, severe weather events, equipment incidents, spills, or fires Maintain emergency equipment and response readiness Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED Minimum three (3) years of experience in landfill operations, heavy equipment operation, construction, earthmoving, or solid waste management Valid Texas Driver's License Experience supervising crews, projects, or daily operations Strong understanding of workplace safety practices Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Basic computer and recordkeeping skills Preferred Previous landfill management or supervisory experience Knowledge of TCEQ landfill regulations and permitting requirements Heavy equipment operating experience OSHA safety training CPR/First Aid certification TCEQ Municipal Solid Waste Facility Operator certification or ability to obtain certification Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors year-round Ability to walk on uneven terrain and active work sites Ability to climb on and off equipment as needed Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally Ability to work around heavy equipment, dust, mud, noise, and changing weather conditions Benefits Brannon Industrial Group offers a comprehensive benefits package including: Competitive compensation Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) Paid time off Profit-sharing opportunities Career advancement opportunities Family-oriented culture Safety-focused work environment About BIG (Brannon Industrial Group) BVR Waste & Recycling is proud to be part of Brannon Industrial Group (BIG)—a fast-growing, family-owned organization built on a strong foundation of safety, integrity, loyalty, and relentless service.
