City Amenities Operator I:
Grade 10 ($20.95•$28.26 DOE)•High school graduate or equivalent. Must possess a valid Utah driver's license. Utah Grade 1 Certified Wastewater Treatment Operator within twelve (12) months of hire date. Valid Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement within six (6) months of hire date.
Operator II:
Grade 12 ($23.05•$32.34 DOE)•High school graduate or equivalent. Must possess a valid Utah driver's license. Two (2) years of experience as a Water Reclamation Facility Operator I. Utah Grade II Certified Wastewater Treatment Operator as of hire date. Valid Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement within six (6) months of hire date. Traffic Control Technician certification within twelve (12) months of hire date. Confined Space certification within twelve (12) months of hire date. Must have basic knowledge of operation and maintenance of the Water Reclamation Facility.

Non-exempt Description:
In the Public Works department, for the Water Reclamation Facility, and under the direction of the Water Reclamation Facility Superintendent, assists in operating all treatment processes of the Water Reclamation Facility, composting facility, and sewer pump stations.
Duties:
Monitors operation, gauges, meters, and controls at the Water Reclamation Facility, composting facility, and the sewer pump stations. Accurately records readings from meters and gauges, and keeps accurate, legible records. Performs visual inspection of plant process and equipment. Operates process equipment, electrical controls, valves, and pumps. Operates sludge pumping and maintains sludge depth in clarifiers. Also, maintains sludge thickening, digestion, and disposal processes. Performs duties in preliminary treatment, primary sedimentation, trickling filter, aerators, and ultraviolet disinfection operations. Recognizes changes in normal operations, determines the cause, and reports to proper authority. Consults with WRF Superintendent or DRC if a problem requires immediate resolution. Assists in the maintenance of the buildings and grounds. Turns compost with front end loader, takes daily temperature readings, and takes compost samples. Takes plant samples as required by the division of water quality. Responds to emergency calls on a 24-hour basis when on-call. Follows the Springville City Public Works safety program. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent. Must possess a valid Utah driver's license.
Certification Requirements:
Operator I must have or possess: Utah Grade I Certified Wastewater Treatment Operator within twelve (12) months of hire date. Valid Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement within six (6) months of hire date. Operator II must have or possess: Utah Grade II Certified Wastewater Treatment Operator as of hire date. Must be able to: Work as a team member. Write legibly and be able to read and understand all aspects of required record keeping at the treatment plant. Operate a front-end loader, backhoe, and skid steer.
Physical Demands:
This position requires the employee be able to: Move over varied terrain, frequently climb ladders, frequently stoop and bend, and be capable of lifting 100 lbs. Work in all weather conditions and around heavy equipment. Accept exposure to odors and hazardous conditions associated with wastewater.
