Our Voluntary Career Progression Program offers clear paths for advancement within your division. As an Equipment Operator II, you will: Operate a variety of motorized equipment, including tanker trucks, vacuum trucks, dump trucks, and backhoes, to transport materials, tools, and personnel to job sites. Use specialized equipment to support essential City operations in the maintenance and repair of sanitary sewer gravity mains, force mains, service laterals and associated site restoration. Perform operational tests and inspections to ensure facility systems and components are running efficiently, including manholes and valves. Inspect and perform minor maintenance on motor equipment, reporting any issues to your supervisor. Performs administrative task such as completing job-related logs and forms.

VOCATIONAL / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
: Requires completion of 10th grade in high school. High school diploma, GED OR specialized vocational training is preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standard, this class requires a minimum of six months of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
: Requires a valid driver's license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards . A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required. Specialized certifications may be required based on department assigned.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
: Performance of essential functions may require exposure to confined spaces. Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and experience of pipe repair techniques and maintenance of gravity and pressurized piping systems.
