Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a full-time Operator for an elevated two-train package plant in Chester, VA. This position involves monitoring, maintaining, and operating a private wastewater treatment facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment, including pumps, valves, and filtration systems. Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs and perform necessary repairs. Collect and analyze data related to water quality and treatment processes. Monitor chemical levels and adjust as necessary to maintain optimal treatment conditions. Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Troubleshoot equipment issues using basic math skills and mechanical knowledge. Collaborate with property management and operations company to ensure efficient plant operations, completion of necessary maintenance and adherence to safety protocols. Skills Proficiency in basic math for calculations related to water treatment processes. Ability to perform minor equipment repairs and troubleshooting effectively. Familiarity with testing equipment and chemical feed equipment used in wastewater treatment systems. Ability to collect data accurately and analyze results for process improvement. Understanding of water treatment principles and practices is essential. Strong problem-solving skills with a logical approach to troubleshooting issues.
