Job Description
Wastewater Treatment Plant Laboratory Technician The City of Waynesboro is seeking an individual to serve as the Wastewater Treatment Plant's Laboratory Technician. The Lab Technician is responsible for daily testing of wastewater at the wastewater treatment plant to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This includes collecting samples, conducting tests, and recording and submitting results. The Lab Technician works under the supervision of the Laboratory Director and Wastewater Treatment Plant Chief Operator. The Lab Technician assists in maintaining the Industrial Pre-Treat Program with local businesses. Shift, weekend, and holiday work is required. HS diploma or GED is required. Valid Virginia driver's license is required. Prior lab and/or wastewater treatment experience is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer programs to include Word, Excel, etc. is preferred. Starting salary for this position is $25.62 an hour with the potential for salary increases by obtaining additional training/education. Open until filled. EOE
