$ 27.88/hr BMID operates and maintains an irrigation system that serves 4500 acres and operates and maintains a potable water distribution system serving 900 homes
Job Summary :
The Entry Level Operator-In
  • Training is primarily responsible for assisting in the day
  • to•day maintenance and operation of the District's irrigation and potable water distribution systems.
This is a full-time bargaining unit position
Minimum Qualifications :
A current Washington State Driver's License with a good driving record. Reliable transportation to and from work Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs over rough terrain and to perform heavy manual labor in all
  • weather as required Ability to climb up above-ground water reservoirs as needed
Desirable Qualifications :
Reasonable knowledge of work methods and equipment involved in public works construction and maintenance Ability to work independently; carry out written and oral directions; and to work well with other employees Current Washington State Flaggers Certification Basic knowledge of techniques, procedures, and safe practices associated with water utilities Experience with plumbing, pipe fitting, underground utility construction , safety procedures such as confined space entry , trenching/shoring techniques is helpful
